Experienced Lapping and Polishing services

Laptech Precision has many years’ experience in the lapping and polishing of quartz substrates. In addition to this we regularly lap and polish other materials including plastics and metals. Items include valves seats, actuators, gears, waveguides, supports etc. For single side lapping our 24” Lapmaster can accommodate parts up to 230mm diameter.

We also offer double side lapping and polishing which has some advantages in obtaining parallelism within a few microns.  We have three sizes of 4-way lapping and polishing machines, models 3b, 6b and 9b. These can accommodate diameters up to 150mm and finishes from precisely controlled matt surfaces up to full optical polish. 4-way lapping machines feature contra-rotating top and bottom plates that reduce drag on the piece parts. This reduces stresses on the carrier teeth and thus allows thinner parts to be processed.
