QA Manager

Role Summary

Leading the QA function throughout the business including the day-to-day management of the QA department and supporting our strong constant improvement culture to meet and exceed customer expectations. RFX is totally focussed in providing its customers with the best service in the electronics industry. We expect you to maintain that focus with all customers when carrying out the duties below.

Main Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Ensuring 'best in class' customer service is delivered to all internal and external customers
  • Contributing to the development of the company’s future strategy
  • Day to day management and administration of the QA department
  • Producing and maintaining short, medium- and long-term strategic plans and objectives for your department(s) as part of the company's business plan and providing six monthly revisions
  • Ensuring that the QMS is maintained, developed and updated as necessary in line with the company's current and future approvals
  • Coordinating the internal audit team, ensuring the company's QMS is reviewed annually
  • Leading and promoting the company's quality philosophies and practices, both internally and externally
  • Liaising with customers to resolve any quality issues, facilitate audits and respond to questionnaires
  • Liaising with suppliers to resolve any quality issues, coordinate performance data and undertake external audits
  • Managing the relationship with BSI and other quality related organisations
  • Investigating new tools and philosophies to enhance the company's quality performance
  • Building and maintaining an effective team and maintaining effective working relations with all other departments
  • Maintaining and developing a knowledge of the company's market, products, industry trends, competitors and leading customer strategies
  • Control of all automotive product throughout the company, ensuring these products are handled correctly and that all the appropriate documentation is available and supplied when required
  • Carrying out any reasonable request from your line manager

Other Duties & Responsibilities

  • RoHS/REACH compliance throughout the company
  • Generating, controlling and issuing Product and Process Change Notifications (PPCNs)
  • Controlling and maintaining the Company’s international, national and customer standards library
  • Generating and authorising other non-specific company statements

Location

  • Your normal place of work is at the company’s West Lothian based head office; however, the role will require national and international business travel involving nights away

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • A degree or HND in an engineering related subject, ideally electronics

Essential Experience

  • Understanding of working practices in the different countries within the territory
  • Highly organised with effective time management skills

Desirable Experience

  • Certifications an advantage including Quality Auditor, Quality Engineer
  • Quality inspection, auditing and testing experience
  • Experience with implementation of corrective action programs
  • Electronics industry experience
  • Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of QA
  • Knowledge of electronics industry regulatory requirements
